Our Staff
We have nearly sixty experienced employees. Many of our employees have worked at MCA for 10 years or more!
We know that a happy employee is a dedicated and productive worker; that’s why we treat our employees well and reward them for individual accomplishments. We even have an entire floor in our office building dedicated to recreation – complete with bowling lanes, table games, a tanning bed and fitness equipment.
Our management team is dedicated to ambulance billing and to serving you the best way possible.
Administrative Staff

Tara Hardwick is Owner and President of MCA. She wrote the original software for the company and started MCA in 1986. Currently, she oversees the company’s operations and serves as a project coordinator. Tara has a background in computer programming and medical billing. She worked for a large company where for 19 years she oversaw employee benefits. For five more years she was a systems engineer. It was this experience that put her in a position to identify the need for MCA. Tara strives to continually enhance the business in regards to technology, compliance issues and employee training. |

Kendi Black, Vice President of MCA, has been with the company for fifteen years. She oversees daily operations, enforces quality control and manages supervisors. Kendi gained experience in every aspect of the company before taking on the role of vice president. She has a degree in health information technology, a thorough knowledge of the ambulance billing arena and possesses excellent people skills. |
David Jones, Administration Director, has faithfully served MCA since 1997. David’s background is in accounting and he is responsible for the company’s finances and payroll. He also supervises customer and provider relations and coordinates marketing efforts. |

Technical Support Specialist, Michelle Mays has been a loyal MCA employee since 1993. She provides technical support for in-house computer systems. Michelle holds a degree in computer technology. At MCA, she manages the submission of electronic claims, the download of customer run sheets, and trouble-shooting. Michelle also assists in software development and reporting. |
Dak Jones has been with MCA since 2007. He works closely with David Jones to coordinate sales and marketing efforts for MCA’s billing service and MCA ePCR Field Data Collection Software by MCA, Inc. When he is not on the road he works to maintain customer relations and satisfaction. Additionally he assists with MCA ePCR Software customer tech support, agency setup / deployment and oversees software development efforts. |

Sherri Erbentraut, PHR, is MCA’s Director of Human Resources. She joined the company in 2006 with over ten years experience in human resources. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is certified by the Human Resource Certification Institute. Sherri’s past work experience includes staff development, managed care, and all aspects of human resources with over 10 years in the mental health field and two years in the cable television service industry. At MCA, Sherri is responsible for employee recruitment and hiring, employee relations, benefits and more. Sherri is an active member of SHRM, the Society for Human Resource Management, and serves on Tri-State Chapter’s board of directors. She also serves as certification director for the WV State Council of SHRM. |
Quality Control Supervisor, Tonya Ward has been a dedicated MCA employee since 2001. She has over 15 years of billing experience and was an outstanding processor of MCA for seven years. Today her responsibilities include providing ongoing training to processors and auditors. Tonya also handles billing policies, procedure policies, documentation training, reporting, etc. She attends conferences, seminars, and continues her education to keep up with the constant changes in the ambulance industry. |

Quality Control Supervisor, Angie Eddy has been a dedicated employee since 1998. Angie was one of the company’s most outstanding processors for 10 years. She has been in the medical billing field for more than 20 years. Today her responsibilites include providing ongoing training for the processors and data entry clerks. Angie also handles public relations, new customer service, providing assistance with documentation, reporting needs, etc. She attends conferences, seminars, and continues her education to keep up with the constant changes in the ambulance industry. |

Training and Development Coordinator, Jennifer Martin has been an employee of MCA since 2007 as a Billing Processor and MCA ePCR Software Trainer. Jennifer came to MCA with 10 years of medical billing experience and as a previous medical software trainer. Jennifer is involved in introducing MCA ePCR by MCA software to current and potential clients. Jennifer is responsible for training the squad administration and crew members on the software application, and working as a customer support contact.

Mike Wheeler is MCA’s Provider Relations Specialist. Mike has been with the company for nine years. He holds a bachelor of arts degree and focused his studies on accounting and business management. Mike serves as the company liaison with ambulance squads and insurance companies, including Medicare and Medicaid. He handles annual renewals and updates of billing contracts, licensure and provider status as well as contract initiation, bank account maintenance for squads and W-9 reporting. |

Johnna has been a dedicated employee since 1999. Among her many talents, Johnna audits claims for EMS and Fire Billing. She works closely with insurance companies and has a true talent for getting claims paid. Johnna is also MCA’s HIPAA/Compliance Officer. She is responsible for ensuring that MCA and its employees follow all compliance regulations and standards. She also diligently keeps our clients updated on those compliance regulations and standards. Johnna provides staff training on compliance issues and assists with provider relations.

Mark Bryant, Computer Engineer, maintains and creates computer programs for our company and customers. He also provides support for the company’s hardware. Mark has a bachelor’s degree in physics and over 25 years experience in computer programming. |
